Astronomy term papers and research papers follow CSE/CBE Style and
among others depending on the specific requirements and also the word
count.
When writing a research paper on astronomy and astronomers, you should
always remember that the two words mean entirely different things.
One talks about a person while the other refers to the subject itself.
Both of these go hand in hand. Most of the subject and the field is
based on predictions and statements are not ought to be entirely correct
in all cases. Astronomers are involved in the study of other objects
in the universe. The studies are usually based upon what is seen through
the various giant telescopes placed in key location around the world
to study and further the knowledge regarding the galaxy.
Astronomy refers to the study of celestial objects (other worldly
objects) in a scientific manner. It also involves the study of phenomena
that originate in outer space. The field is concerned with the physical,
chemical, meteorological and evolutionary aspects of celestial objects.
Finally, they also study the formation as well as the development
of the universe.
Astronomy is of the oldest sciences that have been studied and astronomers
in earlier civilizations also took methodical observations of the
sky at night. There are many astronomical artifacts which have been
found from previous periods. It was the telescope with whose invention
astronomy was able to develop into a modern science. From a historic
perspective, astronomy has come to include extremely diverse disciplines
like celestial navigation, observational astronomy, astrometry, the
making of calendars, and at one point even astrology. However, modern
astronomy is considered to be professional and is synonymous with
astrophysics. .
Since the twentieth century, astronomy has been divided into two
separate branches: observational and theoretical. The observational
branch involves collecting and analyzing data by employing the fundamental
laws of physics. Theoretical astronomy is focused on the evolution
and development of computer and analytical models which are used to
describe and offer explanations for outer space phenomena. The two
branches of astronomy are closely tied to each other and are complementary.
The theoretical astronomy seeks to explain the observational results.
On the other hand, observational astronomy is used to test or confirm
theoretical results.
Amateur astronomers have made a number of key astronomical discoveries
and astronomy remains one of the few scientific fields where amateurs
have an active role and take part in. this is especially true for
discovery as well as observation of different transient phenomena.
Ancient astronomy should not be mistaken for astrology which is a
system of beliefs that human affairs are somehow correlated to the
positions of different celestial objects. Even though the two fields
have the same origin, they are distinct and as such, should be treated
so. |
